A couple in New York has invited over 100 of their closest friends for an evening of cocktails. What was the occasion? Their pending divorce.
The invitation included a statement of the couple’s affection for each other. Some of the invitees found the idea of the party as odd. The couple felt they could be better friends if they were not married. They wanted to thank their friends for their support and they forward to continuing with the relationships with their friends.
As they wrote on their invitations: “As we change the parameters of our relationship, our mutual admiration and caring is constant.” The idea is to celebrate moving forward and this next chapter.
